PHILIP KINGSLEY

Born in 1930 in London’s East End, Philip Kingsley worked his way up to become the world’s leading expert on hair and scalp care. His passion for hair started at his uncle’s hairdressing salon, where he began assisting when he was just 16. Even at this early age, he recognised the profound psychological significance that hair has for both men and women. He opened his flagship Clinic on Green Street, Mayfair in 1968, and then his Fifth Avenue clinic New York in 1977. Starting with a mere five basic products, Philip’s clinic range grew to over 50 bespoke formulations.

A TRUE VISIONARY OF HAIR CARE

Philip Kingsley's passion for hair began at the age of 16 when he started helping out at his uncle's hair salon in London's East End. Early on, he recognized the significant psychological impact hair has on self-esteem and dedicated his career to helping people achieve their best hair. Kingsley was a pioneer in hair care, developing the first pre-shampoo treatment, Elasticizer, for Audrey Hepburn. His work earned him numerous accolades and titles such as Hair Guru, Hair Wizard, and Hair Doctor. His dedication inspired his daughter, Anabel Kingsley, to also become a trichologist. As the president of the brand, she continues Philip Kingsley's legacy in hair care, further advancing its development.

WHAT IS TRICHOLOGY?
